ISSUE:
Atalasoft's ISIS scanning addon contains components from PIXTRAN which need to be copied into the proper location in order for ISIS scanning to work.

RESOLUTION:
In order for Atalasoft's ISIS scanning addon to work, you need to ensure that the Atalasoft.DotIsis.CHN file from of the Atalasoft Isis CaptureResources directory is copied into your c:\Windows\PIXTRAN directory.

This is true for both development and deployment environments.

In addition, the following files from that same ISIS capture directory need to be added to c:\windows\System32\PIXTRAN (on 32 bit systems) or c:\windows\SysWOW64\PIXTRAN (on 64 bit systems).

PIXDFLTN.DLL
PIXLOCN.DLL
PIXPERMN.DLL
PIXTIFFN.DLL
PIXTOOLS.LOC

VERY IMPORTANT

If prompted that a newer file exists in c:/windows/System32 (on 32 bit systems) or c:\windows\SysWOW64 (on 64 bit systems), do not overwrite newer files.

In the past, we have recommended copying all of these files to c:\Windows\SysWOW64\Pixtran\ but if another driver has placed a newer version in there, overwriting these files can cause issues, thus this KB / recommendation has been updated.

NOTE:
Note that some customers have had difficulties deploying ISIS scanning in ClickOnce deployments due to this requirement. Since this only needs to be done once, the work-around for that scenario is to provide the contents of the

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atalasoft\DotImage x.x\bin\CaptureResources\Isis directory to the system administrators for the target domain and ask that they be copied into the C:\Windows\System32\PIXTRAN or c:\Windows\SysWOW64\PIXTRAN directory manually.
