HOWTO: Install (License) DotImage and Add-ons


The base install of DotImage includes all of our add-ons. When you've installed the SDK, you have access to everything already, However, you must license the components you are using or you will receive a license exception.

Therefore, the "how to install DotImage Add-Ons" is really better stated as "how to install and license DotImage"

The following details the steps needed to install and license DotImage:

  1. Download DotImage from our Downloads page.
  2. Run the installation package.
  3. At the end of the installation, the DotImage Activation Utility will be displayed. You can request an evaluation license or register an SDK license.
    • NOTE: If this process fails. You can get an Request An Evaluation on our web site , or register an SDK activation file here.
    • To request an evaluation license
      1. Click "Next".
      2. Select "Request 30-day Evaluation", and click "Next".
      3. NOTE: Step 3 is no longer required/available in DotImage > 10.5 ... with these newer versions, you will automatically receive ALL components. Select all of the components that you would like to evaluate from the list. Please keep in mind that a license for DotImage is required to use any of the add-on toolkits.
      4. Enter your email and password to a valid Atalasoft user account. If you do not have an account at this time, please click on "Create Account" now. Click "Next".
    • To register an SDK license
      1. Click "Next".
      2. Select "Activate an SDK serial number ...", and click "Next".
      3. Enter all of your serial number, including dashes. Click "Next".
      4. Enter your email and password to a valid Atalasoft user account. If you do not have an account at this time, please click on "Create Account" now. Click "Next".
        • NOTE: The account that is used, the first time a serial number is activated, will be assigned as 'owner' of this serial number. This means that no other account will be allowed to activate this serial number
  4. Click "Finish" to exit the installation wizard.
  5. Now that DotImage is installed, You can build your own applications using DotImage as well as run our sample applications. If you'd like to try out a sample application, head on over to our legacy demos page. Download a demo that looks interesting, unzip it, run visual studio, rebuild the solution and try to run the application
